Thousands Left Without Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Around 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the area, generating strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Residents witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Utility workers were attempting to repair power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams activated to manage the widespread outages.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, around 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

During the peak on yesterday, more than 28k energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both regions.
Medical Alert
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This alert comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
